Professional Careers

At ClarkeKann we recognise the importance of our people and strive to make our firm an intellectually and innovative place to work. ClarkeKann is a law firm that offers talented lawyers an alternative to other firms. We attract and retain the most qualified individuals through a friendly and supportive working environment, interesting and challenging work, on-going training, and competitive remuneration.

We are always looking to attract high quality producers and for people whose values are compatible to our own. All information is treated in the strictest confidence.

Our Graduate Program

Our graduate program provides the opportunity to experience day to day conduct of “real” files under the mentoring and guidance of some of the most approachable and experienced lawyers in their fields. At ClarkeKann we aim to give our graduates and clerks the opportunity to gain real life work experience – we will not keep you away from the action.

We seek to expose our staff to a combination of both litigious and non-litigious work so that they can appreciate the differences between the two. An understanding of different practice groups will also benefit your development as a well-rounded lawyer. You will undertake three eight month rotations in our 3 practice areas – Corporate & Commercial, Property & Projects and Litigation & Insolvency.

You will also undertake (if you have not already) practical legal training and accredited by the College of Law to satisfy the admission requirements.

Why choose us?

The size of our firm coupled with the enthusiasm of our people to provide guidance and mentoring means that junior lawyers are provided with direct partner and client contact from an early stage. We create an environment that encourages our graduates to succeed. We do not keep you away from the action.

We have top tier lawyers with mid tier culture. We understand that work life balance is important and we actively encourage that balance.

You will work on all sorts of matters with direct access to partners and clients. You won’t be stuck on one aspect of one matter for the 8 months of any rotation.
